Where to start! My first reaction to this picture was that it was perfect just the way it was, which is excellent because overall there is nothing dramatically wrong or distracting in this image. A lot of times there will be the small things that distract from a picture but the way you've set the background with so many textures and had it darken dramatically to the center has made the focal point very easy to keep our eyes on! Color choices are always a hassle for me, and so seeing how well the picture comes together really pleases me. When it comes down to the nitty gritty, its all about details. The longer someone looks at your picture the more their own pet peeves will stand out. Clearly this is nothing on you as an artist, it just depends on how long you want your viewers to admire your hours of work! (This is something I keep striving towards, as my own stuff doesn't compare to this at all! ^.^) Roses are always a hard flower because you will never find a bunch that are all at the same stage of bloom. So when I look at the bouquet in her arms, it seems as if they are all in full bloom and there are some crammed in underneath as well. Whether this is to keep away from gaps, seeing the sides of some of the flowers would have gone miles in conveying depth to the bouquet. Either that or an angle would show that we are looking at the top of the bouquet. My favorite aspects of this picture are obviously the detail in the gloves, the shading of the hair, and I especially love the neck piece and the hair piece. These all have an exceptional amount of detail and the parting on the hair is really well done. Her expression is the focus of the image and it holds the attention of your viewer well, as it should!
So I hope this helps, this has been my first critique (Thou I sometimes do mini crits on work that I like), and I took my time picking from my message center on an image that I really liked.
Will be sure to watch for more of your art in the future! XO Dev.
